Overview
This section explains how to use interactive classroom tools during a live session, including Breakout Rooms, Live Polling, and Live Timers. These features help instructors facilitate group discussions, collect real-time feedback, manage classroom activities and maintain an organized and engaging learning environment.
1. Managing Breakout Rooms
- Click Class Tools and select Breakout Rooms to begin creating and managing breakout sessions within the live class.
a. The Split Students into Rooms option will be displayed. A minimum of two students must be present to create breakout rooms and the number of rooms can be configured based on the total student count.
b. After configuring the room settings, click Create Rooms to generate the breakout rooms.
a. A confirmation message is displayed indicating that the breakout rooms have been created and are now available for supervision.
b. Click Join to enter a breakout room.
- After joining a breakout room, all participants assigned to that room are displayed in the meeting area. The instructor can monitor discussions and interact with participants within the selected room.
a. The breakout room name is displayed at the top of the screen for easy identification.
b. Options are available to navigate back to the room list, return to the main room, or close the current breakout room.
c. Standard live class controls, including microphone, camera, reactions, and screen-sharing options, remain accessible while supervising the breakout room.
- To exit all breakout rooms and return participants to the main session, click Close This Room from the active breakout room.
2. Managing Live Timer
- Click Class Tools and choose Live Timer to open the timer controls during the live session.
a. Two timer options are available: Break Timer and Activity Timer. Select the required timer type based on the activity being conducted.
b. The timer duration can be adjusted using the plus (+) and minus (-) controls.
c. Predefined duration options are also available for quick timer selection.
d. Adding a note is optional and can be included if additional instructions or information need to be shared with participants.
e. Click Start Break to begin the break timer for all participants.
a. A Break Started confirmation message is displayed when the break timer begins.
b. The class status is updated to On Break.
a. Once the break timer ends, a Break Ended You're Live Again message is displayed.
b. A Time's Up notification is also displayed to indicate that the break duration has completed.
Note: The same procedure can be followed to configure, start and complete an Activity Timer during the live class.
3. Managing live Polling
a. The Live Poll panel is displayed, allowing the instructor to create and launch polls during a live session.
b. Two poll formats are available: Yes/No and MCQ (Multiple Choice Question). Select the required poll type before creating the question.
c. Poll questions can be entered in the Question field to gather feedback or assess participant understanding.
d. An optional countdown timer can be enabled to automatically limit the poll duration.
e. Click Launch Poll to make the poll available to participants.
a. A Poll Launched to the Main Room confirmation message is displayed, indicating that the poll is now available to participants.
b. The Live Poll panel is displayed, allowing participants to submit their responses in real time.
Note: The same procedure can be followed to create and launch MCQ-based polls during the live class.
- To import preconfigured poll questions, Click Import.
- Before importing, the required questions must be added in the Poll Questions section prior to joining the live class.
a. Questions can be added by clicking Add Question. In this example, the question has already been configured.
b. Existing questions can be edited or removed.
a. To import the required poll questions, Click Import.
b. Select the questions to be imported from the available list.
c. Click Import Selected to add the chosen questions to the live poll.
a. A Question Imported into Your Poll confirmation message is displayed, indicating that the selected questions have been successfully added.
b. Click Launch Poll to make the poll available to participants in the live session.
a. A Poll Launched to the Main Room confirmation message is displayed, indicating that the poll is now active and available to participants.
b. A Live Poll banner is displayed, indicating that the poll is currently active for participants.
