Basic Info → Questions → Settings
Scoring
The Scoring section displays the scoring information for the assessment.
It includes:
Total Points
Passing Score
Total Points
The Total Points field shows the total marks available for the assessment.
The total is automatically calculated from the questions added to the assessment.
For example, if the questions together are worth 2 points, the Total Points will display 2 points.
Instructors do not need to manually calculate the total.
Passing Score
The Passing Score indicates the minimum percentage a student must achieve to pass the assessment.
The screen shows a passing score of 70%
This means a student must achieve at least the configured passing percentage to pass the assessment.
The passing score is set by the platform and is displayed in the assessment settings.
Time Limit
The Time Limit section allows instructors to set a time limit for completing the assessment.
The time is entered in minutes.
To set a time limit:
Locate the Time Limit (minutes) field.
Enter the required number of minutes.
Review the value entered.
Continue with the assessment setup.
No Time Limit
The time-limit field can be left empty if the assessment does not require a time limit.
The screen indicates:
Leave empty for no time limit.
When no time limit is configured, the assessment does not automatically submit based on a timer.
Automatic Submission
For assessments with a time limit, the system automatically submits the attempt when the timer expires.
For example:
The student starts the assessment.
The configured timer begins.
Students complete the assessment within the allotted time.
If the timer reaches zero, the assessment is automatically submitted.
